The OlivePress : Liguria and Ligurian Sea
Liguria is simply a wonderful region !
You can breathe our traditions trough a coastline
steeped in history, beautiful ports, natural harbours, as well
as sandy and pebbly beaches.
Fly into Genoa and visit its town
centre, which is the biggest medioeval centre
in Europe.
The city is currently making preparations to host the title
of European Capital of Culture for the Year 2004.
Walk down to the port, where Cristopher Columbus set sail,
visit the famous acquarium and enjoy the original pasta and
genoese pesto sauce.
Chiavari is situated 30 km from Genoa, heading towards Tuscany. It
is situated between Portofino and Le Cinque Terre.
This small medioeval town is a well known center for local
tourism and offers wonderful restaurants and sophisticated
shopping along colonnated streets. Walk down to the marina for
yachting and water sports, as well as night and day boat trips
around the Riviera.
